This dimension aims to support you on defining your company network (which covers processes and partners) according to specific remanufacturing characteristics.

Before starting to fill out your template, read all the information available below, concerning the inputs, tools and outputs, which are also described in the tables.

In the end of this step, you should be able to answer the following questions (extracted from Business Model Generation website):

  • Who are our Key Partners?

  • Who are our Key suppliers?

  • Which Key Resources are we acquiring from partners?

  • Which Key Activities do partners perform?

  • What Key Activities do our Value Propositions require?

  • What Key Activities do our Distribution Channels require?

  • What Key Activities do our Customer Relationships require?

  • What Key Activities do our Revenue streams require?

  • Through which Channels do our Customer Segments want to be reached?

  • How are we reaching them now?

Tools:

  • Digital manufacturing software will help you into the visualization of the current manufacturing process and the changes induced by the inclusion of remanufacturing activities. This software generally includes a material flow simulator, helping you to set accurate targets both for manufacturing and remanufacturing operations.

  • Product data management (PDM) software allow you to link computer aided design (CAD) product information to their influence on your manufacturing and remanufacturing processes. Objectives are to reduce cycle time and resource waste.

  • Experiments/Taguchi Methods. Remanufacturing processes are characterized by a higher focus on quality testing as compared to traditional manufacturing.

  • Quality management through Statistical Process Control (SPC), 6 Sigma, and Design of Experiments/Taguchi Methods. Remanufacturing processes are characterized by a higher focus on quality testing as compared to traditional manufacturing.

  • SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference Model): to support the definition of businesses processes.
